IBJI is proud to announce its participation in the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge for the third consecutive year! The Corporate Challenge is a 3.5 mile run/walk in which many companies participate all over the world. This is a great way for IBJI to come together in late May and kick off the running season. Each year the event donates to a not-for-profit organization. Corporate Challenge Chicago has chosen the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The goal for 2010 is to collect over 20,000 pounds of food by donating nonperishable food items at packet pick up and at Grant Park on race day, as well as, through a virtual food drive. In 2009 participants raised over 8,000 pounds of food.
The Corporate Challenge is also striving to be the “greenest” race in the world by Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow®. Some ways this is being achieved are through promoting proper recycling and trash removal at all events, using supplies that adhere to the JPMorgan Chase's Office of Environmental Affairs (OEA) standards, and encouraging the use of public transportation to/from the event. Actual measurements were calculated from all the events of 2008. IBJI and other participating companies helped save more than five tons of paper, six tons of plastic and enough power to keep ten treadmills running non-stop in a health club for two years.
IBJI is pleased to be involved with the Corporate Challenge. We are thrilled to all come together and unite as one downtown to support a great event.
